Open parking for all students
All students should be allowed to park anywhere on east campus or main campus without being ticketed. The parking decals are too expensive to be charged for parking on main campus or east campus without the right color sticker. We should be able to park wherever we want.
I personally think that making parking passes more specialized would be beneficial. I live in Greek Village and have consistently had a hard time finding parking anywhere I am allowed to this semester. I have spent upwards of 30 minutes looking for a spot and have been late to work because of it. I should not have to add 30 minutes to my planning time to find a spot that I have paid for. I think it would be better to specialize lots further. Almost everyone in Greek Village has their car, but we are competing with Warwick, JR and Potomac residents for a spot. If each building had a specialized lot with a specific number of spots, I would be willing to pay more money as I know I would be guaranteed a convenient spot. Our campus is really small and parking here is relatively cheap compared to our peer institutions, so at the end of the day, I'm not mad about the price. I'm frustrated with the lack of organization and any attempts to fix the situation.
For $250 we should be able to park wherever we want and have options. Most universities offer day passes, or different types of decals and permits. CNU really needs to reconsider their parking and decal classifications. For what you get, the decal is worth $80 a semester at CNU. Let's be honest. You're not getting anything special for $250.
